Simple Tips For Optimizing Your Blog For Search Engine Traffic

For many bloggers, they fail to realize how important search engine traffic can be because they believe Social Media traffic is enough. This is one reason you’ll see so many bloggers fail to earn money online.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Your blog post could be SEO friendly in just three simple steps. These three steps can increase traffic which can make the difference in a blog that creates the owner very little income or one that produces a full time income for the Owner.

Follow this advice to SEO optimize every article you upload and start taking advantage of free traffic from search engines.

To start with, you should make absolutely sure that your post addresses are search engine compatible. With many free blog services like Blogger, this is already done. If you use WordPress, then you’ll need to set your permalinks so that blog creates optimized url’s when you make a post.

The way you do this in WordPress is go to the Permalinks tab, and check the button along side the Custom field. Then you’ll put a percentage sign followed by the words Postname. {Immediately after the words postname, Now} put another percent symbol. This makes sure your blog will have optimized post.

Next, your main keyword should be in the Title of the blog. Let’s say you’re blogging about how to make fast money, then make these keywords the Title of your blog. If your blog is about Dogs, then don’t use something unrelated like your name in the title unless you also have the word Dog in there also. By using the keywords in the Title, then you’ll rank higher than if you name your blog something that does not relate to your main keyword.

Your next step is to put the keywords in the Post’s title. If you’re targeting people to read your post about using Ebay to earn money, then your keywords need to be in your post title. Not something like How I Make Money With Auctions. If you do this, the search engines will have trouble determining what your post is about and prevents search engine users from finding your blog post. If you’re using Adsense to monetize your blog, this is a very important tip to get targeted traffic for high paying keywords.

These three tips will go a long ways in helping the Search Engines know what your post and blog are about. By taking a little extra time and making it easy for them to know what your post and blog are about, they’ll rank you higher in their listings.

Now to fully take advantage of all this optimizing, you’ll need to build links to each post. But I’ll have to save that for another post. Learn how to optimize your blog and blog post first before taking on link building.
