Fitness Professionals: Make Your Online Presence And Reel in Clients

For just about any business today a web page is as necessary as a business card. In many ways, searching the internet for local businesses has taken the place of searching the yellow pages. As an added plus, creating web presence for the purpose of adding contacts to your list is relatively easy.

Stand Out From The Pack:

Many gyms and health clubs have bulletin boards that are plastered with posters and ads from numerous local personal trainers, many with contact information. Yet business cards and fliers with pull-off chads only go so far with describing the services offered. Posting on these same bulletin boards plus having a URL address to send potential clients to a website or blog gives the impression of a high class operation.

Find An Appealing Domain Name:

Everyone who surfs the web knows Yahoo and Google as well as they know certain brands of soups and deodorant. These are catchy names that stick and are not too long to type. Granted, there are some rather humorous ones.

But keep in mind that www.dontbeagirlyman.com is both a little long and taken. Ten years ago this domain name might have been available. However, not all these domains are purchased or even in use.

One way to secure a catchy domain name is to sit down and think up a list of possibilities. Then, search the domain name registration sites and examine which possibilities or variants of them still exist. Domain names with a .com are preferred to optimize the professional heir of the domain name.

Create A Website:

Personal Trainers need to have a blog. Your web page is like a business card. For that reason, it should look clean, crisp, and professional. Pure text sites are best left to the mid-90s as well as cheesy clip art, like animated images of bouncing balls or guys pumping iron. Don’t use these, they won’t help you brand yourself as a leader.

There is a fine line between not enough graphics and too many. Not enough makes it look bland. Too many graphics and it looks too busy, distracting the user from the message. Add images to enhance the page and not confuse the surfer. Always keep in mind that content is king.

A site with easy navigation to the rest of the site is also a good standard. Be sure to emphasize specialties and proven results. A few testimonials could help, too.

If building a website seems too advanced or intimidating, don’t worry. There are lots of opportunities to launch it. Many contractors are able to build your website within a budget that could include trading for fitness services. I would recommend using a word press blog. Word press is easy to setup, a cinch to maintain, plus google loves blogs which will bring you tons of free traffic.

Market the Website:

Once your website is completed, it is time to market your fitness business, and bulletin boards at local gyms and spas is just one way to attract local customers. However, be sure you website is added to several search engines and is on the first page of hits. Again, a web developer may be helpful with this task.

Search engines like large sites. So the more pages you have on your website the more “Authority” your site has. Build a blog, and add pages regularly to dominate the results page and create an endless supply of new customers.

Learn Tricks of the Trade:

Hard work, determination, and a presence on today’s information superhighway are key to becoming a famous fitness professional. There are also many secrets and tricks to this occupation to kick start a new or existing business and Cash In On The Internet.

I love to use WordPress to build my money making sites because it is such an easy platform to use and you can do so much with it. The only downside is that you can only work on your sites while online, but for me that isn’t really a problem as i do all my work from my PC which is always connected to the internet. Would you say WP is the best platform to build sites with, or would you recommend something else?
